Terms and conditions
These terms explain how Harbor Home Access (“Harbor,” “we”) works with you. If anything here differs from your signed contract, your contract applies. Last updated November 4, 2026.

Free in-home assessment
Our in-home assessment for installation work is free and comes with no obligation. We walk through your home, listen to your needs and explain your options. Our recommendations are based on what we see during the visit and what you share with us. This is different from our Whole Home Safety Assessment, a separate service done with an occupational therapist.
Quotes and pricing
Quotes are written and valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise. If the work, your home’s conditions or equipment costs change, we’ll tell you and agree on any change before it applies.
Contracts and payments
Work begins after we both sign a written home improvement contract. Any down payment will never be more than $1,000 or 10% of the contract price, whichever is less, and later payments will never get ahead of the work completed. The balance is due when the work is done and we’ve walked you through it. We accept card, ACH and check. Some equipment, like stairlifts, is subject to sales tax, which will be shown on your quote.
Your right to cancel
You may cancel a home improvement contract within three business days of signing it, or five business days if you’re 65 or older. Longer periods may apply after a declared emergency. Your contract includes the required cancellation notice, and we refund any payment within 10 days of a valid cancellation. We won’t start work, pull permits or order equipment during this period. To reschedule a visit or install, please give us 24 hours’ notice.
Special-order equipment
Some equipment, like curved stairlift rails, is built to fit your home. We only order it after your cancellation period has ended and you’ve given us the go-ahead. Because it’s made for your home, it can’t be returned once ordered, so we confirm every detail with you first.
Permits and building codes
Some projects need a permit. When one is required, we’ll tell you, include it in your quote and arrange it unless your contract says otherwise.
Access, home conditions and safety
Please give us safe access to the work area and tell us about pets, recent surgeries or anyone at home who needs extra care. If we find hidden conditions, like damaged framing or wiring, we’ll stop, explain what we found and agree on a plan with you before continuing. We only install where equipment can be anchored securely, and we may decline work we can’t make safe.
Warranty
Equipment is covered by its manufacturer’s warranty, which we give you in writing. Our installation work is covered for one year from completion. This warranty is in addition to any rights you have under California law. It doesn’t cover damage from misuse, accidents or changes made by others.
Our responsibility
We stand behind our work. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t responsible for indirect losses unrelated to our work. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for injury or property damage caused by our negligence, for fraud, willful misconduct or violations of law, or any rights you have under California law that can’t be waived.
Photos and your information
We only photograph your home for planning and records, and only with your permission. We never sell your information.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version on this page applies to new work from the date it’s posted.
